Join us in Bellwood Park, a tranquil riverside setting, five minutes’ walk from Perth city centre, to celebrate the 2015 orchard harvest.
Help press local apples into delicious juice with Appletreeman Andrew Lear, join our expert forager Margaret Lear on a riverside walk to visit an historic orchard and find out how to cook with fruit with local chef and food writer Christopher Trotter. Listen to fruitful tales from our storyteller Rosie Mapplebeck, and have your face painted with a juicy apple or busy bee! Meet some local beekeepers and discover the fascinating world of bees and beekeeping, taste some honey, and find out why without bees, we would have no fruit!
All are welcome, the event is free, and you don’t need to book.
Bellwood Park is situated on the left, or east, bank of the River Tay, next to Rodney Gardens. From Perth City Centre, cross the river via the Queens Bridge, turn left up the Dundee Road, then turn left into the Rodney Gardens car park. The Fruit Festival will be on the grass to your left.
