The Social and Cultural Innovation Group of the Personal Data and Trust Network (https://pdtn.org/) are organizing a special Panel Discussion in collaboration with Belarus Free Theatre on ‘Trust and Personal Data in Online Communication for Dissident and Exiled Creative Artists’.

As the only theatre company in Europe banned by its home government, and currently the UK’s only’ theatre in exile’, Belarus Free Theatre’s experience is of high relevance to the panel’s areas of interest: Using Skype to direct shows and teach students in Minsk from London, and developing a sector leading position in venue to device live-streaming, Belarus Free Theatre have recently had to deal with hacking and cyber security issues on one hand, whilst engaging an online audience of 500,000+ on the other.

The event will take place on Monday 11th April at the Digital Catapult, 101 Euston Road, NW1 2RA from 6:30pm (6:00 pm for drinks) until 8:00 pm and the panel will include Dr Larry Lynch (Belarus Free Theatre), Julia Farrington (Index on Censorship), Paul Finnegan (Belarus Free Theatre and formerly of PEN International) and John Downey (Professor of Comparative Media, Loughborough University). Places are limited, so please register if you would like to attend – https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/trust-and-personal-data-in-online-communication-for-dissident-and-exiled-creative-artists-panel-tickets-24287153530.
