A new fund has been launched, in part as a result of the Connected Communities Report , which aims to support community-university partnerships, with the money coming to the community partners. The scheme is being run by the AHRC, Power to Change, and NCCPE, and will match community groups (community businesses, charities, social enterprises, and voluntary organisations) with academics to complete research for social benefit. It’s called the Community University Partnership Initiative (CUPI).
Up to 80 community organisations will be matched with academics through workshops in Bristol, Manchester, Newham and Birmingham in 2018. Partnered community organisations and researchers will have access to grants worth up to £1000 to fund ‘thinking time’ and then up to £5000 more to develop their project.
The first workshop will take place in Bristol on March 22nd – for more information click here.
