Practice-based PhD opportunity: History of the Roman occupation of Wales

The National Roman Legion Museum (NRLM) at Caerleon and universities of Bristol and Southampton are looking for someone with a passion for and skills in media & museums practice to develop new, critical-creative, experimental approaches to the history of the Roman occupation of Wales. The project will be developed in collaboration with museums professionals and museum visitors, as appropriate, so may be of interest to people with backgrounds in co-produced research.

If you are a practitioner looking to fund a research-driven project, then this practice-based PhD might be for you. You would be working with Angela Piccini at Bristol, the NRLM and Professor Stephanie Moser at Southampton.

If you’re interested, please submit a 500-1000-word statement about your interest in the project, a first-draft 1500-word proposal, a portfolio of your practice-based media/museum work to date and a CV, by 5pm on Monday, 7 Jan. Email for further details on the application process, criteria and scope of the collaboration.
