Community Hacking and its follow-on Ladders to the Cloud, are both part of a project that explores whether concepts emerging in relation to the Internet could usefully be applied to understandings of off-line contemporary relations and practices. Based in the Edinburgh suburb of Wester Hailes, the team of academics, community organisations and local activists have been exploring the affordances of social media to construct Œbonds and Œbridges between and across existing people and groups
