A collaborative doctorate, arising from a partnership between Plymouth University, Plymouth and West Devon Record Office (PWDRO) and local Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender group, Plymouth Pride Forum. PhD student, Alan Butler, is considering how the LGBT communities of Plymouth have performed and signified their cultural identities during this period of change in both attitudes and legislation.
