This study involved delivery of a program of weekly resilience-building arts workshops for young people with complex needs, and a literature review. We found a significant existing evidence-base linking visual arts practice to individual and community resilience across a number of disciplinary fields including art therapy, social work, community health, cultural policy and geographies of health. This research project will explore how artists work within the AHRC Connected Communities programme. The programme has encouraged arts and humanities academics to work in different ways with communities to co-produce research across a range of disciplines.
